The first week of June was amazing and full of new experience and impressions. From 5th to 9th June 2019 all students from Henryk Sienkiewicz Primary School in Święcany hosted pupils from partner countries: Spain, Turkey, Romania, Lithuania and Italy. This mobility was organized as a part of the Erasmus+ project: ICT YES! (International Culture and Traditions - Young Explolers on the Start!) The topic of this mobility was "Traditional medicine". During those days students visited a lot of interesting places and discoverd the traditional medicine and therapy in different countries. It was also a chance to get to know new cultures and meet amazing people. The week in Poland started with arriving of guests from partner countries. On Monday students from Romania and Spain appeared in Święcany. They had time to rest and get to know their host families. The next day students from Turkey, Lithuania and Italy came to Święcany. They had opportunity to spend very impressive day and meet new friends from other countries. During this free day Polish students showed their guests small but beautiful village - Święcany. Then, they divided into two groups and spent their time in different ways. Some of them went to old medieval town called Biecz. They climbed on a town hall tower and admired the panorama of town. In the evening they organized the bonfire party. Everyone had fun exploring traditional dances of each country and playing games together. The first official day of mobility began at the Primary School in Święcany, where guests were welcomed and watched the artistic part prepared by Polish students. Each country showed presentation about medicine in their country. There were also art workshops for students and a meeting for teachers. Then, they went to visit the major of the district in Jasło, where they talked about cultural differences and about staying in Poland. They also received gifts. At the end of the day there was a disco, where everyone had a great time. On 6th of June students went to Stróże where they had an opportunity to listen to interesting presentation about healing herbs not only in Poland but all around the world. The presentation included the tasting of the elder syrup and the herb tea with utrica honey on wafer. It was also an occasion to try the healing ointment made of calendula which is good for scars and acne. After the presentation students had a short break. They could've buy some souvenirs, go for a walk and admire the views or just talk with other pupils. Then, all the teams went with tour guides on a sightseeing. They showed students the history of beekeeping, which is very long and interesting. Students had an opportunity to see how the hierarchy of bees works, explore the hive, see the queen bee and make candles from the bee wax! After the trip students had free time they spent on hanging out with each other to make friends and be together. On 7th of June all students and teachers went for trip to Krynica. Students and teachers were able to buy a water which helps with health problems. Then, pupils went to buy some souvenirs and do sightseeing. After that, all people went to the shopping centre"Trzy Korony" where they could buy some things. When students arrived to Święcany, they had some free time which they spend in a place near to school where they were playing basketball, talking and just had fun. The last day began with a trip to Wieliczka Salt Mine. Students learned a few things about salt and its history there. They also met a Treasurer, who showed them how people worked in Salt Mine in the old days. It was such an amazing experience. After that, students went to a small town in southern Poland - Oświęcim. They visited German concentration camp - Auschwitz-Birkenau. They found out about Second World War and life of the people during it. It was very tiring, but also interesting and exciting adventure. Unfortunately, it was the last day of mobility. Finally, there was a time to say goodbye. On Sunday all guests had to come back to their countries. It was the last opportunity to take photos and talk to friends. Students and teachers were both happy and sad. Happy - because they could spend this amazing week with amazing people. Sad - because it was the end of this visit in Poland. This mobility was the next awesome and unforgettable event. Students had an opportunity to get to know a traditional medicine in other countries and learn more about their cultures and traditions. Now, everyone has more experience and knowledge. These few days in Poland gave an ocassion to meet other people and spend with them a wonderful time. Moreover, the students could improve their English skills and admire beautiful views during the trips to important places for Polish medicine. For sure, none of them will forget these gorgeous days and amazing people, who came there from partner countries. This visit in Poland was printed in everyone's memory for a long time.
